I am writing to express my interest in the Principal position at your high school. I currently serve as an Assistant Principal in the Keansburg School District, where I am responsible for instructional leadership, student support systems, and schoolwide improvement efforts. In this role, I hold a firm expectation of success for every learner and work intentionally to ensure that systems, structures, and supports are aligned to meet that expectation.
My leadership approach is grounded in systems thinking and a belief that schools function best when academic rigor, student well-being, and relational support are addressed collectively. I believe students develop into lifelong learners when schools provide a balanced educational experience that honors both individual needs and collective responsibility. When applied at the building level, these principles foster a productive, inclusive, and high-expectations learning environment for all students.
I have completed my doctoral degree at Rutgers University, where my research focuses on chronic absenteeism and school-based strategies to improve student engagement and attendance. I am currently attending Teachers' College to further my understanding of Curricular Design. Through both research and practice, I have come to view attendance as a critical yet often overlooked lever for school improvement. My academic preparation includes master’s degrees in Educational Leadership, Political Science, and Special Education from the American College of Education, Rutgers University, and Kean University, respectively, as well as undergraduate and teacher preparation studies at New York University.
Throughout my career, I have served in a variety of roles, including administration, special education, social studies education, coaching, co-curricular advising, and mental health counseling. These experiences have shaped my ability to lead collaboratively, support diverse learners, and respond thoughtfully to the complex challenges facing secondary schools today. I believe this combination of academic training and professional experience positions me well to serve as a high school principal.
